Mildred Amanda Merritt Howard -obit
CALAIS - Mildred A. Howard, died March 14, 2001, in Calais, at a local nursing home. She was born in Hodgdon, Oct. 21, 1913, the daughter of Eben Merritt and Ruby (Barton) Merritt. She was predeceased by her husband, Willard T. Howard in 1974; two sons, Willard T. Howard Jr. and Glen E. Howard, who both died in June of 2?? [1992 maybe?]. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Lorna Murchie and Marion Merritt; four brothers, Elbridge Merritt, Fred Merritt, Earl Merritt and Byron Merritt. Surviving are two daughters, Ruby MacArthur of Dixmont and Frances Hennings of Lakeland, Fla.; one son, Frank Howard of Princeton. She is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Hannigan of Hodgdon; 25 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. Cremation will take place at McDonald's of St. Stephen, N.B. A graveside service will take place sometime in the spring.
